This is an easy sewing project, but the end result is adorable when paired with a matching ruffled hand towel.
First gather your supplies:
2 squares of outer fabric cut 8.5 X 8.5 inches
1 square of thermal lining 8.5 X 8.5 inches
Step 1: Cut your fabric, and pin the fabric right sides together with the lining at the bottom. Do NOT sandwich the lining between the red fabric!!!
Step 2: Sew around the edges using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Sew on the fabric side. The thermal lining will have a tendency to stretch and move so don’t be surprised when the back looks off, like mine did. Be sure to leave a 2 inch opening on one side.
Step 3: Clip corners and trim excess thermal, being sure not to cut through the outer fabric.
Step 4: Turn right side out and Iron edges flat.
Step 5: Top stitch close to outer edge to close opening.
Step 6: Sew consecutive squares for a decorative look.
The perfect handmade Christmas gift!
